The International Gaming Awards have been scheduled for their eighth rendition on the evening of Monday, February 2, 2015. The award ceremony celebrates the accomplishments of the live and online gaming industry’s top performers. It also helps to raise money for honorable charity organizations around the UK, and is anticipating the largest year of giving in the IGA’s 8 year history.
The ceremony will take place once more at the luxurious Savoy Hotel in London, England. As one of the premier events of the iGaming industry, representatives of the world’s leading companies will be there. The most esteemed awards categories include the Casino Operator of the Year, iGaming Software Supplier of the Year, Best Mobile Operator of the Year and Innovator of the Year.

Aside from the prestigious accolades to be conferred that night, the International Gaming Awards also plays host to the largest annual charity event in the gaming industry. Having already raised £115,000 for worthy causes in the past, the IGA has selected four organizations to receive much deserved funding this year. Those charitable foundations include Breakthrough Breast Cancer, CARE International, Children with Cancer UK, and The Responsible Gambling Trust.
Charitable Efforts of the International Gaming Awards
Breakthrough Breast Cancer is a UK organization that helps fund research towards the prevention, detection and treatment of breast cancer. Founded in 1989, the foundation’s goal is to “stop breast cancer for good”.
CARE International is a humanitarian foundation that helps to fight hunger and poverty in over 100 countries around the world, and is often the first to respond to areas hit by natural disasters. The organization is able to spread its reach so far by also supporting more localized humanitarian projects that protect natural resources, aid in economic development and deliver emergency aid wherever it’s needed.
Children with Cancer UK (formerly Children with Leukemia) is a member of the National Cancer Research Institute, helping provide funds to “determine the causes, find cures and provide care for children with cancer”. The organization was founded in 1988 by the O’Gorman family with the loving assistance of the late Diana, Princess of Wales, who personally inaugurated the foundation. However, the foundation receives no funding from the government and is 100% reliant upon donations.
The Responsible Gambling Trust provides in-depth research into the gaming industry in an effort to minimize problem gambling. The non-profit organization funds education, prevention and treatment methods to further its commitment towards averting harmful gambling and helping those who do have a problem.
Gold Sponsor of the International Gaming Awards
Playtech Plc. has been named this year’s Gold Sponsor of the IGA event. Playtech is the world’s largest developer of online gambling software, including hundreds of virtual slots and table games like blackjack and roulette, plus sports wagering and other interactive gaming products.
With 15 years’ experience in the online gambling industry and licenses spanning some 120 operators around the globe, IGA founder Colin Thompson exalted the company as this year’s sponsor. “We are delighted to welcome Playtech as a Gold Sponsor to the prestigious International Gaming Awards”, he said.
The International Gaming Awards “recognize the very best in the global gaming entertainment and technology with Playtech a proven leader in the iGaming market,” Thompson continued. He pointed out the “host of industry awards” Playtech has received over the years, confirming that “Playtech’s support once again underlines the importance of the IGA event.”
